Achieving Potential Indigenous Support Scholarship
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
You must meet the following criteria :
- Commencing a new undergraduate or graduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia*.
- Are an Indigenous Australian**
- *Includes Diploma of Tertiary Studies, Diploma of Higher Education and Monash Transition Program.
- **To be eligible you must provide a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate or a certified Statutory Declaration form to the William Cooper Institute. This can be emailed to wci-ss@monash.edu. If you have any queries please contact the William Cooper Institute on 9902 4972.
Benefits :
$6500 per annum (48 credit points of study) for the minimum number of credit points required to complete your degree. (From 2024).

Guaranteed to all eligible students.
Selection criteria :
Awarded to all Indigenous Australian coursework students.
To retain this scholarship:
- You must engage with the William Cooper Institute (WCI) at the commencement of your studies and sign up to WCI's Indigenous Academic Enhancement Program at the beginning of each semester of study.
- This scholarship can be held with any other scholarship (From 2023).
How to apply :
- No application is required. You are guaranteed this scholarship if you are Indigenous Australian and intending to study an undergraduate or graduate (coursework) degree at Monash.
- This scholarship can be deferred.
The Achieving Potential Indigenous Support Scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies without worrying about taking on more work or making educational sacrifices.
This scholarship has also strengthened my connection to the William Cooper Institute, which has almost become a second home. The other students are lovely, and the staff are super supportive and helpful.
